Dr. Stephen Flisk, Ed. D.
Dr. Stephen Flisk is an Aria Public Design Senior Advisor. He holds a doctorate in Urban Education Leadership from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a Masters in Mathematics from Chicago State University. His three children attend public schools in Illinois.
Dr. Flisk serves as Deputy Chief of Schools for the Minneapolis (Minnesota) Public School District, where he is responsible for academics, school and district operations. He supervises the Turnaround School Leadership program, identifying and training transformative principals for schools needing significant improvement. He leads school safety and security, and athletics. Prior to this role, he served as an Associate Superintendent for three years, supervising a K-12 portfolio of 13 schools. In that position he established both STEM and International Baccalaureate pathways between his elementary and high schools. He also helped his schools improve science and mathematics learning, ELL and New Comer language programs
