Eric Davis, APD’s Vice President for Architecture, designed a complete historic preservation project for the exterior of this 1907 Chicago elementary school. In addition, Mr. Davis is a published author and expert on its architect, Dwight Heald Perkins. The renovation included the complete replacement of the school’s innovative exterior metal “curtain wall,” a first for a school project, based upon Mr. Perkins’ experience at the noted Chicago School firm of Burnham and Root. All exterior brick and stone work, windows, and the building’s cornice were completely renovated and restored.
